  • Attacked by a shapeshifting flesh demon
    • Completely overwhelmed her, tearing her to shreds before she could even really attack
    • A dragonborn guard from Hazerhorn named Tyerjon ran over and assisted with the attack
    • Before killing her, she managed to envelop Balnar and drag him into the shadows
    • Seamus ended her with an insane display of power, and she shriveled away, leaving behind a strange, pulsating crystal.
      • Grognock took the crystal.
  • Journey went to go find Kradva, who had run in fear
    • She found him with Mardyth, pressing a knife to the diplomat’s throat
    • Upon claiming that he always keeps his promises, he sliced Kradva across the throat and stabbed his heart, leaving him dead on the ground
    • Made his getaway in a shadow
  • Not in possession of the proper materials to revive him, the party took his body with them to Madrioc, with Tyerjon accompanying them.
  • After a small altercation with a guard at the city gates, they were accepted into the city, and were told to head straight for the Madrioc Commission’s headquarters.
  • The party met with Eitryll, the captain of the guard.
    • Explained to Eitryll what had transpired with Kradva, and that they had something of import to deliver to the Circle of Merchants
    • Told him about what happened in Vardev with Abrax, as well as Mardyth and Balnar
      • Eitryll said they would put out a watch for people fitting the characteristics described
      • They asked about the condition of Captain Harten
    • Eitryll tasked Tyerjon with keeping an eye on the party, but gave him a warning about leaving his post.
    • Left Kradva’s corpse with Eitryll, promising to return tomorrow to utilize Phaelnah’s speak with the Dead spell.
  • At Eitryll’s recommendation, the party stayed at the inn Rest Assured, run by a kind purple tiefling and a tall, thinner half-orc.
    • The party spent some time sharing information about their situations as they drank and ate
    • Leadbelly drank a shitload of beer, sitting in a silent rage
  • Ate breakfast the next morning, and went on to the Inner Circle, going back to the Commission Headquarters
    • Talked to Kradva from beyond the grave
    • Learned a bit more about his background, and his quest
      • Kravda’s full name was Kradva Ospen
      • He was from the Suffessian Dominion, of which he was royalty
      • His goal was to deliver the stone to the head of the Mages Guild, Renbedar Uleshan
    • Eitryll produced some things found in Kradva’s…cavity
      • A small stone in a bag
      • A folded up letter, which addressed the party and apologized to them
  • Arrived at the central tower of the Inner Circle, climbing up the winding steps to the top
    • Arrived as a meeting ended, with many people flooding out of the circular meeting hall
    • Tyerjon spotted a member of the Circle that she needs to track down
    • The party talked to Renbedar Uleshan, who teleported them instantly to his office at the top of the Crooked Climb in the Spiral Ward, the magic district
  • Conversed with Renbedar about various things
    • Wander revealed the orange stone he had been carrying around, which Renbedar identified as the Sallow Stone, an artifact of great power
    • Renbedar nonchalantly conversed about Kradva’s death, seemingly uncaring that he sacrificed his life
    • Kicked the party out of his office when he was bored of them
  • The party spent some time in the Spiral Ward, visiting various establishments
    • Looking for magic materials, the party visited The IngrediENT, run by an enchanted tree named Sticky
    • Went to the Lucid Dove, meeting Avelos the Learned, a tortle enchanter
      • Journey sold off her scimitar, buying a bag of holding for the party
  • Went up to the jeweler Glimmershine, run by Oshiz, a nice man with a hatred of wizards
    • Wander bought a nice pearl for his Identification ritual
    • Phaelnah purchased an expensive diamond in order to gain access to Revivify.
  • Visited Gutcutter’s, a blades shop run by Ashes, a red tiefling
    • Seamus had his blade sharpened and cleaned
    • Ashes pointed Leadbelly in the direction of where he might be able to find a forge
  • The party branched off
    • Leadbelly, Journey, Wander, Seamus, and Phaelnah went to the Eastern Ward
    • Grognock and Tyerjon headed west
  • Leadbelly stopped by a temple honoring Tyrix and Onyr, and learned of the location of a Fuselian-styled forge where he could reforge his halberd head.
    • He found the forge, named The Stone, where he paid 4 gold to craft with the forge for a time. As he hit the head of the halberd with his hammer, dark clouds gathered above him, and lightning began to strike the halberd with every blow of the hammer. When he was finished, he had a beautiful halberd head, and engraved in the side was an image of a man gripping lightning.
  • Leadbelly stopped by the Temple of Onyr, communing with the god of revenge.
  • Grognock visited Hit ‘em with the Blunt End, meeting a brash old woman named Lessa Vellor. Bought a set of iron knuckledusters.
  • Tyerjon visited the Trade Oversight Headquarters and met with Eyles Hierto, learning a bit about his past.
