The Tearful, otherwise known by their title the Eater of Corpses, is a powerful demigod active in Hazeron. The Tearful is often described as being a generally simple-minded entity consumed by a ravenous hunger, but those who worship the demigod claim that it commands them to a higher calling. It presides over the domains of flesh, bone, consumption, and regret.
Description
Appearance
The Tearful is generally depicted as a gaunt, beastlike humanoid that walks on all fours, much like a dog. Its hind legs are bent backwards, and it has a large, arching spine with the individual segments jutting out unnaturally. The Tearful is known to have three mouths; one for speaking, one for eating, and one for killing. Its speaking mouth is filled with two rows of human teeth, the eating mouth is the largest with three rows of both sharp and flat teeth, and the killing mouth sits below the other two, lined with thick fangs. The hands and feet of the Tearful are equipped with sharp talons, and it has a pair of bleeding red eyes.
Personality
While generally seen as a simplistic entity consumed by its desire to feed, it is also known to bereave its prey and weep over their corpses. Devout followers of the demigod insist that the Tearful conducts its business in order with a higher purpose, but these reports often conflict.
Belief and Systems
The Tearful is widely regarded as a neutral evil demigod, though this is highly disputed by its acolytes. While its greater desires are shrouded in mystery, at the very least it is known to be a hungering god that enjoys the offerings of its followers. The Tearful does not appear to advocate for any particular philosophy, but encourages those under its wing to indulge themselves in the pleasures of flesh and consumption.
