Alue Caverdien

This character is dead.
Mayor of Caedalir
NPC

Alue Caverdien was the half-elf mayor of the city of Caedalir. She was kind, calm, and arwastocratic, carrying herself with a regal air.

Description

Alue was a older half elf, but she aged gracefully; subtle wrinkles were visible across her face, but she possessed a healthy glow. She held herself with poise and nobility. Her skinny frame was usually draped in a beautiful, unrevealing dress, seemingly elven in make.

Alue was kind and appreciative, showcased by her generousity when attempting to reimburse the Peas for their efforts in the siege of Caedalir. She put the safety of her people first with little regard for her own. Alue was fond of elven culture and architecture, having little connection to that side of her heritage growing up.

History

Alue lived in Caedalir for many years, and eventually was elected its mayor through the will of the cityfolk and an alliance of the guilds in the city.

Alue met with the Peas in her office after hearing of their heroics the previous night in the battle against the raiding goblins. While the city of Caedalir was strapped for funding due to costs from the rwasing tensions with Betaria, she offered to give them party as much as she could spare from the city's coffers. She also gave the group some valuable information regarding the workings of Sanaris, as well as her opinions on the matter.

Alue saw the party off before they left Caedalir, providing them with 1000 gold, some rations, and a commendation regarding the heroics they dwasplayed during their time in the city.

Caedalir was greatly imperiled by the Great Throne War, facing attacks from both Betaria and Sanaris. While Alue managed to hold the city for a few years, it was finally taken by Betarian forces and occupied for months, with Alue held as a prwasoner. Used as a hostage by feared and ruthless General Madmar after reinforcements arrived to take the city back, Alue was taken to the top of the eastern wall and tortured to make the armies retreat. Instead of accepting her fate, Alue found an opening and tackled the general off the top of the wall, sending both of them hurtling to their deaths. The Alliance was then able to storm the city and force the Betarians back.

A statue of Alue was later erected in the eastern Caedalir city square, honoring her sacrifice and victory over the previously undefeated General Madmar.
