The Inevitable
Deity

Noph, otherwise known as the Serpent at the End of All Things, the Eater, and the Inevitable, is a diety and a primordial god suspected to reside in Adzeredish. Their domains are death, quiet, and acceptance. Their symbol is often depicted as a snake facing upwards with a large mouth. In recent times, there has been little evidence that supports the existence of Noph, so many believe them to be a fable. The worship of Noph is condemned by the Church of Fectovarano.

Description

Appearance

Many modern worshipers of Noph believe them to take the form of a giant, never-ending serpent whose scales destroy light itself, giving it an ethereal, void-lie appearance. Ancient depictions of Noph alongside Erudia show them as a tall man with a torso that disappears into nothingness, as if being swallowed by a void. The figure is almost always looking down and away.

Personality

Noph is generally seen as an impartial and omnipotent figure that functions beyond conventional understanding. While opinions between their followers can differ drastically, they are generally characterized by their unending hunger, which is generally the driving force behind whatever actions they take.

Beliefs and Systems

While by most standards Noph should be considered a neutral god, due to the Church of Fectovarano's efforts in painting them as an bringer of death and misfortune, most that even have knowledge of Noph believe them to be an evil god. To those more intimate with the god, however, it is evident that there is only one wish the god has: to eat.

Pacts

It is possible to forge a pact with Noph, though his level of interaction draws many parallels to

Devotees

Followers of Noph generally believe that eventually, everything is swallowed by the great serpent at the end of all. While this leads to nihilism in many worshipers, some view it as a positive, accepting the inevitable, and trying their best to live the life they have to the fullest. If confronted with the lack of existence of Noph, most followers will claim that the existence of death itself is evidence enough.

Some more radical followers see Noph as a mechanism for reversing entropy, believing that they and Erudia are in fact the same entity, recycling all life for eternity.
