Origins
The Djinn hail from Ignis, and rarely enter into Materium on their own, usually having to be summoned.

General Description
The Djinn are fire spirits, humanoids with skin made of blue flames, hair of black smoke, and eyes of burning red coals. However, they are shapeshifters so this doesn't necessarily mean they will appear like this, as often they will simply reduce their forms into a cloud of black smoke.

Unlimited Cosmic Power...
The Djinn are probably amongst the most powerful races, magically speaking, in the entire Multiverse, possessing immense reality-altering powers which allow them to bend the very material of the world around them to their whim. However, their powers have limits - they cannot affect the Gods or alter the divine order of being.

...Itty-bitty Living Space
Most of those who will ever encounter a Djinn in the Materium will find one that is bound into a container, such as an oil lamp or a glass bottle. This binding ritual will force the Djinn to comply with the demands of the one who carries the container. Many Djinn, or Genies as these bound Djinn are often referred to, resent this loss of their freedom as the ritual puts even more restraints on their incredible power, and so the more disgruntled amongst them take out this frustration on their new "masters" by making every wish they make a double-edged sword. The most common way that they can be freed is if the holder of the container wishes for it, but the stipulation will change depending on how lenient (or sadistic) the binder is; however, due to the nature of the spell, it is never something the Genie can do unaided. As such, a Genie being given their freedom rarely happens so it leads to many Genies becoming increasingly bitter or even going mad with loneliness or boredom.

Sing for the Moment
Djinn culture is largely unknown to most, but what is known in that Djinn have a love of music. All Djinn have exceptional singing and dancing skills and will never pass off an opportunity to show them off, and the best way to befriend one is considered to be through a shared love of music. Many Djinn will even speak largely in verse just for the fun of it, much to the annoyance of any nearby non-Djinn.
