The capital city of The New Republic of Bēti, Ādīsi Geneti (often shortened to just Ādīsi by locals) is the second richest city on Oerth thanks to its heavy port traffic, and is the most populous city in The New World. "Ādīsi Geneti" literally translates as "New Paradise" in the forked tongue. Ādīsi sits at one of the southernmost points of the landmass, and is the only main stop off point on the route around the south of the continent for traders and explorers. However, much of the taxation on trade is collected to the east in Ch'erek’a due to its controlling position on the Straits of the Moon, overseen by the Sanctioned Sailors guild.

Ādīsi is the centre of government for the Republic, and as such nearly every major guild is based in the city, including the Person Removal Union. Guilds and government are nearly indistinguishable as the council is made up of nominees from each guild - often the richest or most influential members of the guild in question. Theoretically, each citizen of Bēti has a vote on which nominees progress to the council, but most are contractually obliged to "consign" their vote as part of their guild membership. To qualify as a citizen, one must have worked for a guild for at least five years, including either having been born in Bēti or having lived there for at least three years of their guild membership. As there is a guild for nearly every profession, very few citizens have access to their own vote, known as free voters, for example Qau-dibab-āy'ḥāk-āy'āda. Often however the free vote can heavily determined the makeup of the council with the guilds, especially if the major guilds are not cooperating over filling the council.

While the plurality of the Ādīsin population are Chameleons, there exist significant minority groups within the city, moreso than within the rest of the republic, including remnants of the Tir royal family. As such, there exist believers of a great many faiths within the city, with a slight majority of Dezrael believers. This is a much less militant branch of the faith than the Temple of the Hand in the Water  in The Meritocratic Republic of the United People of the Pools.

The city is also home to the Grand Bētin University of Life Sciences, a great centre of education, and is considered the foremost institution of medicine and chemistry on Orth. Many great surgical and medicinal advances have been developed here, as well as less savoury drugs, such as Spore and Crimson Mist. Most of these are exclusively made here, from the flora and fauna of the fungal jungle harvested in Sī’oli-zafi. The city allows a free trade on many narcotics, and encourages their export despite criticism and threats from many external nations.

In spite of the tolerance and semi-democratic government, Ādīsi is still a city with problems. The drug trade and turning a blind eye of the guilds have left certain areas crime ridden and in deep poverty, such as Mouldtown. Even in high society crime is rife, especially with political assassination and espionage between the guilds, not helped by the PRU executing both these contracts and being in charge of the judicial system.
