The Jade Foxes were hired to investigate why Skyhorn Lighthouse, a crucial beacon of sailing for ships approaching Sharn was no longer lit. This was viewed as being a relatively straightforward assignment, so it was undertaken even though Rahl and Canton were not available. Instead it was used as a training exercise for Kriv. The Jade Foxes find the bridge to the lighthouse had collapsed, and the out-houses around the base of the lighthouse contain several bodies with claw-marks across their faces.
Entering the lighthouse itself, they found themselves attacked by the ghost of the lighthouse keeper. She attempted to possess Kraxor Tyraneroth, but failed and was quickly dispersed. Heading up the broken stairs, the Jade Foxes made it to the top and relit the beacon. Within the top chamber were several more bodies, along with the corpse of a lizardman.
After descending the stairs again, the Jade Foxes were confronted by three more lizardmen over the broken bridge. They were the last survivors of the N'Gatii tribe, and were seeking vengeance on the humans that had taken their lands. The Jade Foxes were able to defeat two of the lizardmen, but the third ran into the forest beyond. Giving chase, the Jade Foxes followed the lizardman through the trees into a cave. There they found the lizardman had stumbled into the lair of an owlbear and been killed. Backing away slowly, the Jade Foxes withdrew without provoking the owlbear, and returned to The Jade Fort.
