The Jade Foxes were hired by the Sharn City Watch to disrupt the wedding of Nyx Malachan, daughter of the notorious crime boss Thule 'Bearkiller' Malachan and Elias d'Cannith. The City Watch weren't interested in House Cannith; they wanted to get Thule 'Bearkiller' Malachan, who normally kept his location secret. The public spectacle of a wedding at his country estate was too good an opportunity to miss. The Jade Foxes had a two-part mission; firstly, to obtain a notebook containing a list of all of the corrupt members of the Sharn City Watch. The second objective was to embarrass Thule 'Bearkiller' Malachan publicly, so that the wedding did not go ahead and strength both sides.
Splitting up, Rahl Morninglow went through the front door with an invitation purchased from a merchant. The rest of the team headed around the eastern side of the estate, until they found a broken latch on a first-floor window. Climbing up and inside, the team accidentally ran into a servant, that Sarran quickly killed and disposed of. Canton Busby and Sarran then headed to the office while the rest kept watch. They were spotted from the central chamber by a watching Felicia d'Cannith, but she merely raised her glass at them and smiled. On breaking into the office, Sarran found a nervous groom; he took Elias d'Cannith for a walk to calm his nerves. Meanwhile Canton Busby broke into the safe, and found the notebook. Heading down to the central chamber, they discussed with Felicia d'Cannith her concerns about an alliance with the criminals; she explained that she wanted House Cannith to be about exploring new technology, not merely creating weapons.
The Jade Foxes used a spiked to to persuade the band, Bardic Glory, to start singing songs to embarrass Thule 'Bearkiller' Malachan. Then in the ensuing confusion, they spread spells over the area to drive the guests out, while simultaneously charming their target to follow them to the waiting Sharn City Watch outside the estate.
In the aftermath of the failed wedding, the proposed alliance between House Cannith and the Aurum fell apart, and the betrothal of Elias d'Cannith and Nyx Malachan was not attempted again.
