As their first assignment together, the Jade Foxes were hired by Felicia d'Cannith to recover a box that had been recovered in The Mournland. They headed to Vathirond, on the Breland border with The Mournland and met the adventurers that had recovered the box. They questioned the adventurers, but got little useful information; and so got back on the Lightning Rail to return back to Sharn, expecting an easy assignment.
They were interrupted several hours into the journey by a loud crashing noise. Looking out of the compartment, they saw that half of the carriage's roof had been torn away, and a dwarf had jumped down through the hole, accompanied by a pair of warforged.
After a short confrontation, the dwarf used an invisibility powder to grab the box and disappear. The Jade Foxes fought the warforged, and defeated them. Charging after the dwarf, they found that he had clambered onto the roof, and was heading towards a rope ladder dangling from an airship above. The train started to accelerate, and the Jade Foxes split up. Canton Busby headed to the front of the train to attempt to slow it down, whilst the rest fought the dwarf. Canton Busby discovered that the control rod that helps keep the bound elemental under control was missing; heading back to the dwarf, he joined the fight by pushing the dwarf off the side of the train, and then casting featherfall to save himself. Finding the control rod on the dwarf's body, Canton Busby got the bound elemental back under control and pulled the train to a stop.
After a few hours, they were able to get moving again. They met Felicia d'Cannith at the Sharn terminus of the Lightning Rail; she took possession of the box, and opened it to reveal that there was a journal inside.
