A major religion in Khorvaire and the state religion of Karrnath for a large chunk of The Last War. Followers believe that divinity lies within ones self. By embracing the power of their own blood, the planes of Dolurrh can be avoided.
Kaius III officially adopted the religion in order to utilise its necromancers and its military arm, the Emerald Claw, to support the war effort. The King and his regent, Moranna later changed the state religion back to the Sovereign Host, outlawed the Emerald Claw, and banned worship of the Blood of Vol in Korth. This U-turn was explained by Kaius as being due to necromancy causing failing crops, and the general religious extremism of the Emerald Claw.
Aftermath of the Defeat of Erandis Vol
Following the events of KA05. Worlds Collide / KA01-05. Epilogue, there was a wave of religious persecution against followers of the Blood of Vol: Despite the vast majority of followers never having heard of Erandis Vol (and even now, seeing the name of the religion as a coincidence - to the disagreement of Emerald Claw members), many temples throughout the country were looted and clerics attacked by Sovereign Host followers, a new wave of hatred put into motion.
