Weymouth is a city in the Three Rivers Federation and capital of the East Santiy region.

History

The city was founded by the first men to come to the continent of Thaelia. It's name is from the first settlers sighting wales nearby and naming the river that flows through it the Wey. It was later the birthing place and later capital of the Catal Kingdom, later a Free City, and now a state of the Three Rivers Federation.

Town Wards

Outside walls: The city is protected by walls that it has outgrown.

Odoros District: The district with the artisans of all sorts of crafts.

Old Town: The old city by river banks. Buildings include several temples, a library, a mage school, the abandoned palace and the town hall.

Mantua District: Markets, Inns, Animations.

Slums/Shanty Town: Outside the city walls.

Topology

The city is on the river banks, but is surrounded by a small hill and cliff atop which resides the fortified palace. The old town is on one side of the river, fortified by a wall, and the city later expanded on the other side, building bigger buildings, bigger streets, more fortifications as the city grew, and eventually a slum appeared on the outskirts of the city.

Geography and Climate

The climate is mostly dry and warm, ranging from 8°C in the winter to 28°C in the summer. Precipitations are low, and crops are irrigated in the neighbouring area, mostly using the Tinter river.

Government

People's Council

The city is ruled by the People's Council, which are nobles loyal to the Santis Federation.

Previous Governments

The city used to be ruled by a magocracy, where members of the High Circle elect on of their members to be the ruling figure every 3 years. The last ruler was Maya, until she was killed by a commoner during the siege of Weymouth.

Population

The population of Weymouth is of about 14'250 people. The population used to be over 18'000 before the war.

Economy

Every citizen must pay a religious tax, and people entering the city must also pay an entrance fee of 10 Gold to the city. This money is hardly enough to pay for the city guard and normal functioning of the city, as many older buildings are left in disrepair.

Religion

People can freely follow any religion they want.
