R09 - Trying the team thing AGAIN.

Session

Monday, 12th of Muvay (continued)

I got control of myself just in time for blades to be drawn. In a way. Spirits and monstrosities, really. It was quick and hectic, with Christopher being brutally damaged. They seemed to focus her. He said he had magical talents - maybe they’re drawn to it?

While tending to him (mostly assisting Aggma, admittedly) they mentioned ‘more loot’. It appears the reason I walked off in my fugue state with naught but Oris was because treasure distracted them. Great. Christopher’s not in any state to be scolded, and I’m tired. No channeling Fionna on this one. I’ll say it with kindness when we get a chance.

The elven woman (Maise) came to and asked what the date was. She was out of it for three weeks. When she pulled off her glove one of those amber orbs - Larysine - fell from it. She was given this orb by someone in a tavern, claiming it was a good luck charm. Nastus was his name. She had no memory of the time that passed.

She was put into this state by just looking at it. Last she remembered.

Described Nastus as a handsome guy, tallish (pointed at Aggma which means very tall). Young, golden eyes. He had a golden sun circle on his forehead. Human-ish. Thinks perhaps Kalashtar. Group said they were part of the Helveni caravan. Sett’s caravan. She met him in Adestry, a tavern called the Rusty Bucket. Just said they were travelling fortune tellers. If he’s doing this to many people we might have a big issue on our hands.

She said she was there investigating the murder of a noble. I don’t think its relevant but it seems like it caught Oris’ interest.

We invited her come with us back to Tilley. I took the long way around the troll as he didn’t see me go in and hates humans. Met them by the horses. She also had a vision of Naomi who was dead. Same as ours.

Oris mentioned he found a journal - which he referred to as if it were fiction he whole while - and prattled on whenever I tried to ask questions. Whatever. Probably not helpful. He did apologize for being angry. He’s forgiven. We’re not always in control of our emotions, and the way one feels. As long as you don’t cling to it.

We got back to Tilley and sat down in my home. Christopher had a lot to say. He was frustrated and angry. With us. That we didn’t work as a team, that he was constantly in danger. That he was close to dying every time we fought. He’s right.

Everyone had their own complaints - save Aggma, who is quiet as always. I’m becoming concerned. I can’t tell what goes on behind those eyes. I stepped in and tried to quell it. We all fucked up. We will continue to. All we can do is forget what happened, move forward, and do our best. Everyone agreed with some squabbling. This will be an uphill battle. Sett is acting stubborn, so we may need to work around him. Though they did somehow agree to practice.

We’ll see how this goes.

Happy birthday, me.
