  • 41.51% of visitors are from the USA
  • 9.08% from Germany
  • 7.22% from the United Kingdom
  • 6.67% from France
  • 5.58% from Canada

  • 2.29% from Hungary (newcomer)
  • 1.93% from Spain (newcomer)

Switzerland and New Zealand are once again out of the top 10.

The app gets about 400 daily active users. During the last report, 300 was the number of daily visits, which now stands are about 750 per day.

Google tells us that the biggest demographic still is 18-34 year old (84% of users, going down) males (88% of users, going down).

Patrons on Patreon continue to be amazing and cover all hosting costs and help towards me hopefully being able to work fixed amount of hours per week on Kanka. The number of Patreons has exploded to over 150, however the average pledge has gone down. We're 30% towards the first life changing goal!

Community

The community around the app continues to be amazing! The support and encouragement I get daily is incredibly humbling and motivating.

The Discord continues to grow (465 users) with daily conversations, as well as people helping out each other when I'm away or sleeping, which is amazing. ArcOnyx has been promoted to Team, and the new Worldbuilding channel gets a lot of activity. I expect to add moderators to the team once the Discord hits 500, but we have yet to warn or ban someone from the server so far.

The subreddit continues to be quiet, as per tradition. I get more requests per email than on the subreddit, which slows down my capacity to delegate answering user questions.

Behind the scenes

The beginning of 2019 was quiet on the new features front, yet still included auto-updating mentions, the released API, user switching, community templates, a brand new dashboard, and the quick entity creator.

Some of the big features I want to work on in the upcoming quarter are:

  • Community Templates: Build more templates with the community.
  • Better Search.
  • Produce more tutorial videos. These always require a lot of work.
  • Promote more community content.
  • Streamlining bug report and new feature suggestions.

Helping Out

We are always welcoming to people who want to help out! Being the only developer makes it hard for me to find time to work on all the features I want for the app, as well as manage testers, translators, videos and content. Some skills that could help out include:

  • PHP programing, preferably with the Laravel framework.
  • Javascript programing with good knowledge in jQuery or VueJS.
  • SEO knowledge or even expertise. The app needs to be better advertised on search engines.
  • Translators: Helping out with existing languages, or translating in new languages.
  • QA testers: People who have time to test new features and break things.
  • Community promoters: People who can promote the app at conventions, online communities, Youtube/Twitch channels etc.

If you have any experience in any of these fields and want to help out, please contact me on Discord or [email protected]

That's about it for today! Hope you all enjoyed this posted and I look forward to your continued support of the app.

As always, come say hi on the Discord, and thank you for using Kanka!
