A magical mineral that suffuses the universe. It generally appears as a blue-grey translucent tabular or pyramidal crystal when found as an ore, but otherwise is a fairly common particulate in space.

Popular belief holds that celestine was created by the Numina, leading many cultures to still refer to it as Numenite instead of its 'scientific name'.

So far, celestine's usage has been nigh ubiquitous. The most common use is through space travel. Specialized solar sails filter out the celestine in the air / space and feed the particulate into condensers. Condensed celestine then is used in propulsion engines to allow ships of all sizes to break through atmospheres and cruise towards their destination.

Comparisons to Real Celestine

Celestine derives its name from the Latin word caelestis meaning celestial which in turn is derived from the Latin word caelum meaning sky or heaven. See Celestine (mineral) - Wikipedia for more information on in real life (IRL) celestine.
