Once a unified state, after the death of the last king,  the second largest island in the archipelago has been locked in a brutal succession war. The War of Antillian Succession has been raging on and off for forty years and the island looks to be permanently divided .

Two major governments exist, a pro-Republic of Haven faction based in Rinca and a strongly nationlist faction out of Pader receiving some degree of support from Etmarch and Ende. This conflict actually sparked a larger war ten years ago, where great galley fleets of Haven clashed with those from Etmarch and Ende in the Gulf of Antilles. That war ended inconclusively with the Peace of Eshia, where (in theory) the foreigners withdrew to allow the Antilians to settle the matter amongst themselves. Since then the major powers have not clashed directly, though they continue to provide covert aid to their supported factions.

Due to the ongoing conflict, central Antilles has been almost depopulated and has reverted to anarchy, that stretch of coast provides a prime haven for Piracy.

Inspiration

In addition to the same 17th century Caribbean inspiration of the overall The Thousand Isles, Antilles pulls from Cuba geographically and Hispaniola politically.
