You have a military rank from your career as a soldier. Soldiers loyal to your former military organization still recognize your authority and influence, and they defer to you if they are of a lower rank. You can invoke your rank to exert influence over other soldiers and requisition simple equipment or horses for temporary use. You can also usually gain access to friendly military encampments and fortresses where your rank is recognized.
I was born in Bjarnardarl to a barbaric tribe. From birth i was destined to be a soldier, a protector. I trained hard with the best of us under the great officer Khan. A day came when forces of evil found their way to Fjall. Our chief decided that it's our responsibility to assist, so Khan was sent there. Months went by and we received news of Khan's success. It sparked fire in me and for the next five years I trained harder than anyone else. At that time, we weren't aware that some of the evil forces managed to slip through and come for our village. We had to make a stand, with the absence of Khan I commanded a group of soldiers, my friends, and after long days and nights of fighting we banished the threat. Many of my friends died that day. The chief ordered me to find Khan, knowing we will need a teacher for the next generation of warriors. Reluctantly I agreed - I knew my place was with my fellow warriors but the threat was real and we needed Khan not just to return to his position as a guide but to light that spark of hope in others, same has happened to me many years ago
