Expedition 18A - Amos's account.

After meditating on my recent exploits, and my continued service of the revered patron of locks the most miraculous thing happened when I awoke. I found that I was able to mend our dwarven companions' wounds right before his very eyes. With new found faith, and a recently purchased donkey as well as the baron's blessing (and guard) the party set out to find this tower of collectors, and bring the divine statue below redwood manor proof of the fall of the elves. My hope is to aid this noble creature in the completion of its divinely mandated duty. Though it may have missed the destruction of its creators it is not too late for it to aid the world in the holy expunging of demons now. Our journey however was not without woe. After about a day of travel along the shore we set out for the darkwoods for the first time. In it we found a plethora of the aforementioned dangers that lurk within it. After the party found a strange petrified foot near an old road we quickly discovered its petrified foot. The beast seemed ginormous and lizard-like but none of us got a good look at it for we averted our eyes from its petrifying gaze and ran away before it could track us further.

After returning to the road we found a large sinkhole where some kind of ancient building once stood. Though I theorized that this might be the tower we are looking for after we descended it seemed to be nothing more than ruin. Alfredward did manage to spy a scroll case within its destroyed walls but we thought better of exploring when we saw some strange snake-like creatures within the rubble. Further up the road we finally came across what we were searching for, a massive tower of elven design at the conclusion of the road. As Rossa poked around the entrance with his strange telepathic helm we were ambushed by a creature of pure shadow. The baron's guard was not so lucky and died of terror upon seeing the creature, but Conciencia continued her valorous service as together we slew the beast while Rarder and Dalgarn accosted it with their magical shields. I do not know if more of these magical horrors will lie beyond, or even what we are looking for in this tower but I know that we must find it, for the safety of all of redwood!
