Great Games Notes (#4)
(To remember everything happening during the games, so that she might write songs about it later, Calliope has taken some notes. Or, at least, she has attempted to.)

Theo certainly earned his Great Games title, ‘The Mastermind’ today! He didn’t make a single misstep in answering the riddles posed to him, much to the chagrin of some of his former colleagues. I might have taken a little too much delight in seeing them look aghast at losing to someone they had been ridiculing in front of their students only the other week!
I will say I was surprised that Xan wasn’t there to watch, as her and Theo seem to have really hit it off over the last few weeks. She did turn up at the end to congratulate him though; so she obviously wanted to show her support. Maybe she just had something else to do? Or perhaps she just couldn’t stand the thought of listening to all of those academics waffle on…
Honestly, I did think I would be quite bored by it too. But I actually found it rather interesting! It was almost somewhat nostalgic: reminding me a little of sitting around a fire, listening to Damon and Rizon debate the minutia of different magical theories. They would have liked this, I think. I… I suppose Damon still might.

The chariot race was very exciting! Especially because I got a perfect view of everything from above. It is a shame that most of the spectators of the race had to watch from the ground: though maybe that is for the best because I am not exactly sure that Braz and Hippofilius exactly played fair.
And that is not even mentioning all of the damage they caused! They knocked over a pottery stall, strewing shards of red pottery everywh… oh no.
