That thing about the prison

Conspiracy Theory

Everyone who lives in the large city of Leramar knows the largest prison on the outskirts of the city. Known for exposing inmates to appalling conditions and treating them like scum. But the institution's rehabilitation rate speaks for itself, because everyone who has served their sentence comes out as a new person and will never again commit a criminal offense. But something inside them has been crushed and destroyed, something every one of them is too afraid to talk about.

So it came about that, over the years, more and more rumors were spread about it, one wilder than the previous one. Talks about torture as cruel as the nine hells, punishments as severe as dying all over again. But one thing has been in people's minds for years. A conspiracy theory that springs to mind as soon as they think about the Stonegate Penitentiary:

For every soul trapped in these gray cells, for every crime inside those lone rooms, for every scum that is incarcerated in the darkest parts of the safest dungeon in the kingdom. For each of them, there is another one outside, another one lying in a bed made out of pure gold, wrapped in the most expensive garments, prosperous enough to build a kingdom of their own. And these others have always kept their eyes on the prison, for the unspeakable atrocities that take place there that are only a simple game for the rich men.

Those who are sentenced to death in prison never leave it again, but they are not killed because no one has ever seen an execution, and no one has ever seen a body being removed from there. No, the doomed remain in dungeon. In a place that only the important are allowed to enter. And a place for the rich to see. A game is played with them, a game in which they die every day and are then resuscitated the next day only to die again. Each of them is taken to a cell with others and are condemned to wage a battle for life and death just for amusement.

In a distant place called “Granjel”, the inmates fight with what they find there against the others and if they refuse, the prison director's magic will kill them themselves. If you don't kill, you must die. And the last that remain will be rewarded.

And all of this is seen by the others, the gold-draped ones. And they bet on the fighters, looking at these cruel games with an animalistic greed and an insatiable hunger for more blood and violence.

There are no winners in this sick and twisted game.

So if you are ever arrested, pray that you will not be sentenced to the dungeon of blood, because you will not die there, you will go straight into an eternal cycle of agony and death and fear. For that the prosperous ones can feast on your predicament.

A game show, made for the rich and with all the poor souls and lost ones as the unwilling participants, doomed to play for all eternity. Just to have the Watchers see all the bloodshed and death, to be a plaything for the ones too wealthy to be judged.
