Campaign Refresher: Character Creation and Combat Modifiers

Character Creation Refresher

Standard Generation - Easy Summary
Step 1: Choose or Roll your Species
Step 2: Choose or Roll your Career
Step 3a: Determine Starting Characteristics (Reference Species Characteristic starting scores)
Step 3b: Determine Fate, Resilience and Movement.
Step 4a: Record your Species Skill - Choose three Species Skills to gain 5 points and three Species Skills to gain 3 points. These do count for career completion advances.
Step 4b: Record your 5 Bonus Species Talents.
Step 4c: Allocate 40 Advances to your eight starting Career Skills (0-10 points). These count as career completions if you place at least 5 points in it.
Step 4d: Choose one free Career Talent
Step 5a: Gain All Starting Trappings.
      1. All Class Trappings on page 37,
      2. All Level 1 Career Trappings
Step 5b: Determine your Status and Starting Wealth (bottom of p.37)
Step 6a: Write down name and Description. Also determine your Weight
Step 6b: Establish Ambitions (optional; no x.p.)
Step 7: Establish Party Relationships (optional)
Step 8:Answer your Ten Questions (p.42)
Step 9: Start your Career Advancement Tracker:
   - Check if you have completed the minimum Career Talent
   - Check if you have completed and any Career Skills with 5 or more initial advancement points(including Species).
   - Check if you have completed the Career Characteristic Advances (they will need 5 points each from x.p. in order to complete your first career).
      Notice: Once you level-up, you do have access to advance points in your prior career skills, but do NOT have access to gain more ex-career talents.
Step 10: Make a Replacement Character.
