Rodariost is a rat demigod and a child of the god Gulchax. He makes his domain in Gessaria, and is most active in the Nightspell Moors. His main goals are the protection and multiplication of rats across his territories.
Description
Rodariost is a large, intimidating rat-human looking beast. His fur is speckled with spots of mange and rot. His teeth are large, rotting, and sharp.
Rodariost is a calm and slow-spoken being, taking great care to act with caution. He is generally open-minded and does not overvalue his position as a demigod, acting with little to ego discernable ego. Regardless, he appreciates gifts and worship, and seeks to increase his influence. Rodariost is kind to those who treat his rats well. When he is pleased with someone, he provides them with gifts of power.
Skills and Abilities
Rodariost is capable of manifesting himself freely wherever there are large concentrations of rats. He can also see through the eyes of rats, allowing him to observe much of the world. Additionally, he can control rats to do his bidding.
Apart from his rat-based powers, Rodariost is a physical juggernaut, capable of receiving great damage without incident and possessing great strength. Rodariost can easily crush thick steel in his hands. Additionally, Rodariost can use primitive magic that allows him to move invisibly and whisper over great distances.
History
Rodariost was birthed by Gulchax at some point in the Age of Iron, through the specific date is unknown. Rodariost himself recalls his youth in a haze, as during this time he had little awareness or cognition. Left to his own devices soon after his birth, he was forced to raise himself, relying on the kindness of the pitiful to survive. Eventually, he began to rise in power, and became a small figure of worship for some time, presiding over a temple in the Nightspell Moors. However, following the creation of the city of Madrioc, Rodariost's old shrine was demolished; regardless, by that point his following had waned significantly. In the new city, Rodariost protected the rats that flocked to it because of the increased human presence.
Rodariost was entrusted with the care of a new potential leader of rats, Ketrup. He began raising Ketrup, teaching her and helping her grow.
A shrine to Rodariost was erected in the sewers of Madrioc beneath the Curtain around Iron 947 by Todalis Sindria, one of the few devoted followers of the demigod. Rodariost appreciated Todalis' efforts to provide a comfortable home for his rats, and later entrusted the care of Ketrup to him. In Iron 951, when trouble began brewing between the Rodariost Faithful and the Fangs of Noph, Rodariost appeared after the adventuring party the Peas appeared and diffused the tensions peacefully, thanking the group for their work and providing them with a warning about Razodon Goswin.
Later in 951, Rodariost would join the Battle for the Sun, proving himself a juggernaut on the battlefield. He was instrumental in clearing the way to the Shadow Fort and preventing the Peas from being boxed in.
