This is the central region of the city, with Parramatta as its central business district and the Greater Parramatta area. It stretches north from Bankstown and Liverpool to cover Blacktown, and reach northwards to Hornsby, Castle Hill, and Rouse Hill.
The Central River contains the second largest group of changelings in Sydney. The changelings here are often far more anti-authoritarian, and the spirit of rebellion has often found a root here. Changelings who dwell here often mistrust the changelings of the Harbour, finding their airs reeking faintly of Arcadia.
Many times through its history, the changelings here have experimented with the idea of splitting off to form an independent freehold. However, the shield offered by the harbour’s protection has usually kept these down to mutters.
Census: Despite the relatively low population of mages throughout the city, the Central River region contains the strongest presence of mages, almost matching the changeling presence here on a 1:1 ratio. More than half the city’s mages are thought to reside here, and it is assumed the central halls of power for them are found here. Approximate changeling population: 45.
