Artificer/Wizard/Sorcerer/Warlock/Druid/Ranger

Your Focus may be anything which you can focus your magic, though it must be large enough to be held in one or two hands. The materials it is made out of will dictate the cost of your focus, where a wooden wand may be fully functional to cast a spell, there are many who would rather display their wealth or the like. Someone proficient in Rune carving or arcane scribing would be able to turn an object into an arcane focus. Doing so to a magic item not imbued by the same person will rid it of any magic it previously held. Prices of imbuing specific materials differ, the table below describes how much it would cost to imbue an object of a specific material, if not stated use the best approximate.

Paladin/Cleric

As a servant to your oath or god, your arcane focus will represent that. Though it need not be anything of great value, most clergy members of higher status usually like to show off status in their divine focus. Your divine focus will cost different amounts depending on what it would class as in the view of economic standing. To create a divine focus you must bless the object in holy water as a ritual which takes 1 hour.

Purely symbolic, bares little to no resemblance to your faith.Mostly symbolic, could be handmade by you in an attempt to resemble your faith.Carries passable resemblance to your faith, possibly handed down to you from a senior cleric of your temple. It clearly represents exactly what you intend it to. Anyone in your social circles would instantly recognize you as someone of noticeably higher status.
You are most likely a head priest of your faith, or you are in other ways well off and intend to display your belief.

Bard

As a master in the arts and storytelling, you will most likely find your focus in the form of a musical instrument or equivalent. This however does not mean you will be able to cast you magic using any musical instrument. An instrument intended to be used as your arcane focus must be inscribed by someone proficient in Rune carving or arcane scribing. Doing so to a magic item not imbued by the same person will rid it of any magic it previously held.

You can find a list of instruments in the shops section under the Luthier and Instrument Craftsman.

Artificer

As an artificer you may instead of using an arcane focus use your tools to channel tor spellcasting, Using tools this way requires you to be proficient with them.
