Valoria

The Empire of Valoria is a nation on the continent of Eressea. Formerly the Republic of Valoria, the Empire was founded in 613 SE when the senatorial wizard, Caburus, destroyed the senate and declared himself emperor. 

Politics

The Valorian Emperor has absolute authority over the empire, but his power is counter-balanced by the Valorian Nobility.

The emperor is assisted by his council.

The empire is broken up into several political subsection, called Prefectures, run by a Prefect. The prefects have authority over all imperial lands and cities that are not under the control of a specific noble. Technically all nobles are under the authority of the prefects, though this fact is sometimes ignored.
