The caster attempts to create a permanent gate between planes. The caster chooses an archway or gateway structure no more than 9 plus casting modifier squares in size that is within 9 plus casting modifier squares of them. The caster must perform a ritual to sacrifice an object from the target plane which additionally requires a knowledge Arcana (if the spell is Arcane) or Religion (if the spell is Divine) with a difficulty of 19 to be passed. If this skill check is failed, the sacrificed object is lost and the spell fails. On a natural roll of 1, in addition to failing the caster suffers a wild magic surge. If the caster passes the skill check, they then begin the long rest of continuous casting at the end of which the structure contains a 2 dimensional portal surface that can be freely moved through by any character from either plane as long as the plane entering them has nothing that would specifically bar the character from entering. This portal is permanent and creates a duplicate of the portal’s structure in an open empty space in the other plane somewhere considered not lethal by the standards of the plane. The two structures are linked and if either is destroyed the original structure suffers the damage and the duplicate ceases to exist and the portal is closed. This spell does not require concentration to maintain and ends once the portal is created. If the caster is attempting to make a portal to a demiplane of their own creation, they do not require an object to sacrifice but still must complete the ritual. Additionally any demiplane that has a portal linking it to another plane has its duration made permanent until the portal is closed at which point the demiplane collapses within 1 day if another portal is not opened. Once the portal is opened the caster cannot willingly close it.
