Iescalt

Unique material

A marbled metal that hinders the effect of magic. On contact it suppresses most, if not all, extraordinary abilities. Thus it's most frequent use is for manacles and restraints.

Given its usefulness and rarity Iescalt is exceedingly expensive. You can find alloyed manacles more easily and cheaper at the expense of function.

The moment you are bound by Iescalt you must roll according to the table. Any spell of that level or under becomes disabled automatically.

If bound by Iescalt you may attempt to make a constitution saving throw to cast a spell. However if you fail the saving throw it immediately fizzles and the backlash of the metal makes you feel sickened and weary. You lose that slot, the spell does nothing. While Iescalt is considered nonmagical (its more of an antithesis of magic) it is immune to the effects of Freedom of Movement.

Antimagic Iescalt has been laced with enchantments that are incredibly hard to add to the metal (given its nature, after all). The benefit is that every spell automatically backlashes.

An arcana check against the save DC, 22 in the case of antimagic, will reveal if it's that tier or lower.

example you're bound and roll a 16. The DM reveals they are at least weak alloy but could be higher tier.
