Fleetfall

Summary

First thing happening before your night ends the 17th[Thirud] is that Haril stares into his crystal orb. As his eyes glow up, his hands start doing motions, and he mutters incantations he receives a vision.

Your vision turns white, and as the white disperses partially, your vision is still obscured by heavy snow. You warp further, and you see a giant gray mountain covered in snow as well. Your vision warps closer and you see a fortress. And once again your vision flashes, and in front of your eyes you see a woman at a table. Her complexion is green like your own, and she has ragged hair, very unkempt and across the side of her head there is heavy scarring which has burned away the hair on the right side of her head. You see her tinkering with something, but she looks to be in a daze. And for the duration of your watch she doesn’t move out of the chair sat neatly next to the table of scraps of metal and various parts. That’s when you leave your vision.

After which, he heads to bed whilst trying to understand the vision he just had.

The next day starts with a curious interaction when Haril tries to find someone to provide them with jobs, he talk with someone who seems to carry a chip on their shoulder and they get into an altercation. In the end he is knocked unconscious and appears to get into trouble quite regularly based on how his friends/colleagues react. You are provided with the name of a high up here called Berafin, who could probably get you assigned as guards. There doesn't happen too much to you during the day, that is, until later in the night when you collect the books at Jennipher's Wondrous Goods and study them for many hours. During the session of study you reveal some very curious information:

  • The book is written by someone called Fitzgrand Emmersby, most likely based out of a school or library in the city of Avelier located in the Clifftop Peninsula.
  • The tablet is not ancient, at least not in comparison to other artifacts found regarding the Sheliad. It is in fact no more than at most 100 years old based on its quality and lack of wear.
  • It is most likely made by someone who carries great skill in the craft, though with tools of poor quality. Based on the many small carves made which would not be present if someone had a proper set of tools, it seems the person who made this had a singular or a very small set of tools.
  • They can find a reference to a collection, though without a name, from where the items of reference were used. And based on the fact that the books references the tablet, there is reason to believe that the author had it when they wrote the study.

The group decides that they are to investigate whatever this is, based on certain curiosity, but mostly because you've grown tired of Fleetfall. Georgie presents an idea, that you can use her boat to travel down south. You decide upon leaving Fleetfall within the coming days, and you head off to bed.

Date: 17-18th[Thirud-Calud] of Zodvas yr. 2604
