Deities

This is beginning from what the scribes have pieced together and mortal's limited understanding of the multiverse. In the time before there were the Ancient Ones first. The 13 worlds were created, along with the

Jotunn/Titans, Primordials, and the Celestials. A being or force called "The Mother" died causing a civil war between the light and darkness. Most of creation was destroyed during this war, the 13 worlds shattered into billions of shards of creation. Each eventually turning into its own crystal sphere, floating on the sea nothingness, containing it's own reality. The larger shards being claimed by the more powerful Jotunn and Primordials as their own personal realms. The body of "The Mother" was somehow shaped into Yggdrasil, with the sea or worlds being put into the trunk of the world tree. The larger "netherworld" shards landing in her branches, and her blood forming the river of life flowing throughout. The civil war ended for everyone except the celestials. The ones siding with the light created the high planes and became known as angels. The ones siding with the darkness created the low planes and became known as Devils. The ones the grew tired of it all and chose no side remained Valkyrie. Eventually the ones on extreme sides were twisted and morphed by the light and the dark, becoming beings of pure light or twisted hopeless demons of pure darkness. This never ending war eventually infected every world causing night and day, wars, the corruption and salvation of new races created by the elder races. Continuing now and using the mortal races as currency and pawns in their never ending war. Celestials can fall from grace or start a road of redemption but, usually mortals are involved.
