Expedition 29 - Rarder's Account

The Grand Wizard's apprentice finally arrived—and it was a she. Jauregi, a healthy-looking woman, presented her letter of recommendation from her Master. I spared no coin, and made sure she's provided with a good horse, proper apparel, and equipment.

And then I dumped on her all the arcane items I've safely stored away for months: an arcane spell book from the room with chained skeleton, two arcane scrolls from the bandit keep, and a potion with orange liquid. I've also gave her a spell book containing the "sleep" spell, so she can copy it into hers.

If she proves herself most capable I might even take her on an expedition or two. But it was good that I haven't taken her to this one. Seeing an elf squeezed to death would be too good for her morale... Heck, she didn't seemed to pleased with our fort-under-construction. What did she expect in the middle of fucking nowhere? A palace?

Either way, expedition to the Tower of Constructors has proven to be the best one so far—we finally managed to recover our stolen treasures! Or, to be more precise, Alf and mine, since most of that party has perished by now.

Unfortunately, our nosiness got the better of us. We burst into a massive ceremonial room, and were assaulted by a gigantic snake. It got the lazy elf—ha, how fitting—and then promptly chopped to pieces. Another nick for the screaming battle axe.

Alas, it is not prudent to delve deep with an object screaming my name, no matter how triumphant it feels. Brother Amos has been properly avenged, and I've decided to switch back to my old trusted duo: a hand axe and a shield.

Some weeks ago we recovered an amazing ebony-black hand axe shaped as a crescent. Let's see how well it chops.
