The Yawning Portal

All drawn to the The Yawning Portal for different reasons, Elegy, Nedria Mirielle, Solaris, Beatrice Laurel, and Valentino Corsetti came together when a troll and several stirges emerged from the tavern's namesake shaft to the Undermountain.

After the fight, Volothamp "Volo" Geddarm approached the disparate group to offer them a job searching for his friend Fleur Bagmaar. He had last seen Fleur when drank together two nights ago in the Skewered Dragon in the Dock Ward. The next day, a woman claiming to be Fleur's wife sought him out, letting him know he'd gone missing and demanding his assistance in finding him.

Volo offered each member 10 gp to find his friend, promising "ten times that" upon completion of the job. This increased to 15 GP up front and 125 GP on completion after a successful persuasion check from Val and, coin in hand, the party set out to follow their lead.
