The cyclopes are a primordial race of giants descended from godlike beings. Their ancient ancestors were great soldiers, smiths, and builders. Today, most cyclopes are only a pale reflection of their ancestors. They can vary in size, in intellect, and in the number of arms or fingers that they have, but one feature is always the same—a single great eye under their brow, instead of two.

The storm relented. Light broke through the clouds, spilling down onto the marble pediments and wet paving stones of the city. Dazed citizens beginning to emerge from their homes. Before long, the silence that came after the storm is replaced by a wave of sound as thousands of citizens started clapping and cheering.  Cries of  “The Heroes of Thylea!”, “The Chosen Oness” and “Peacebringerrsss!” could be heard. As The Heroes of Thylea and the Gods recovered there was a wooshing noise, King Acastus riding Icarus in the sky, surveying his domain. The Dragon roared and headed back to the castle. Everyone helped each other on their feet, Talieus taking the opportunity to explain how he thinks the New Dragonlords are a force for good to Tryntia. She told him that her ire was not directed to him but againt King Acastus, the descendant of Estor Arkelander.

The chosen ones headed back to the King, where they were praised and given a map leading to the legendary Ultros as a reward. The party raised some concerns that some of his closest advisors were allied with the Titans but the King explaiened how important to peace was keeping a balance between all the factions in the city. The King showcased a keen understanding of what makes people tick. However while he spoke he revealed that the Ultros was captained by bandits which rang false to the heroes. They kept quiet about it but it was noted. As he finished his speech he dismissed the heroes and wished them well on their journey out of his city. As the heroes were leaving they were intercepted by the Queen's bodyguard Makhaira who informed them that the Queen wished to speak to them. The heroes promised they  would but set to securing lodgings first. Taran, a powerful noble descended from Adonis Neurdagon himself offered his house to them for no cost. While his guards seemed similar to the soldiers that served the Temple of Sydon, his hospitality was impecable and they were invited to a feast in their honour. Before this was done however, Praxos called a team meeting, to discuss the heroes next steps. Much talk was had, around the reappearance of Dragons and all the events they had seen so far.

After this talk they headed to meet Queen Vallus. They saw the Queen being extremely busy, tending to the administration needed to rebuild the city. She warned them not to trust her husband and suspected him sending them to the Ultros was expected to end in their death. He was not always such a paranoid man but she admitted that he had trouble sleeping and seemed distrubed by something. She does not know from where he obtained Dragons All that withstanding, she admited that the ship needed to be rercovered if the heroes wanted to venture to the sea. To that end, she asked the heroes to come straight to her when they retrieved the ship as if the public was made aware that it was THEY who reclaimed the King would have to honour that and not claim The Ultros for himself. Additinally, the Queen asked them to do anything they could to help the city and spread the word of the five. The ritual that they cast to dispell the storm had left all of them euxhasted. Things like damaging the reputatyion of the Titans temples or looking into the flooded sewers would all help.

In the end she revealed information that could help the heroes such as the location of one of the old flying fortressess of The Order of the Dragonlords which could be found in the Garden of Unknown. She said that while he thinks himself as a god he is a vain and foolish creature. The garden of Helios is found under the constellation of the chariot with the heart tree being under the constellation of the heart. Finally she warned them to beware Sydons and Lutherias children, known as the The New Titans.

The heroes then went to The Academy of Mytros where they engaged in debate and sought knowledge. Their day ended in the feast at Tarans where they were asked to elimintae Unknown for a large monetrary amount and perhaps future funding of their expedition. He explaiend that her activities were extremely damaging to the cities prosperity and slowed down the rebuilding needed to be done. Sullas, Tarans song tried to use the heroes influence to secure an audience with Vallus who he wanted to seduce but when that did not appear achiavable he asked Euryale out. To everyones suprise she agreed and they would meet at the great gardens on the morrow.

In essense they now need to discredit the temples of the twins; fix the sewers; reclaim the Ultros; romance Sullas; travel to the heart tree; find the garden of helios; find the dragonlords’ flying fortress; deal with the lady of coins for Taran; find the island of Helona; head back to the island of Themis; find the lotus witch; find the seers; defeat or reason with the twin titans, and probably a lot more.

"These two groups of stars are sometimes called The Centaur and The Scorpion, after a very old tale."

"A centaur came across a scorpion stuck in a puddle of mud.  The scorpion begged for help, but the centaur was afraid of getting stung, and so he trotted away and left her to die.

A gust of wind blew a branch into the puddle, and the scorpion was able to scramble along it to escape. She then followed the centaur's hoof prints, seeking revenge on the selfish beast that had refused to help her.  She found the centaur sleeping in a shady glen and stung him in the throat.

As the lethal venom coursed through his veins, the centaur thrashed about until one of his hooves landed on the scorpion, crushing her.  'If you hadn't sought revenge, we'd have both be alive!' the centaur lamented with his dying breath. 'If you had helped me, I wouldn't have sought revenge!' the scorpion replied."

Outsiders may lead difficult lives in Thylea. They often start their careers in the Forgotten Land with very little—for example, basic gear that they managed to cling to after a shipwreck. As in many societies, this visible poverty makes them objects of suspicion for the natives: who are these strangers, and what are they about to steal? Members of races that are rare in Thylea will face inevitable suspicion. In extreme cases, they will need to persuade the natives that they are not some monster sent as punishment by the gods. Provided that outsiders don’t run amok, the natives are likely to treat them with a degree of kindness: the rules of guest friendship apply even to those who wash ashore from shipwrecks. However, it’s easy for a stranger to run afoul of the conventions of Thylea— those of guest friendship in particular.

For an outsider, it can be difficult to grasp the idea of being both the mortal enemy of “savage centaurs” and also a guest in a centaur camp. Worse yet, no one will explain that they will once again be fair game when they leave the camp on the next morning. This absolute standard of hospitality can be mistaken for weakness—a fatal error. Outsiders who abuse guest status will soon find everyone’s hand raised against them and curses raining down upon them. All Thylean natives understand the importance of oaths and the rules of civilized oath-taking. Because this is widely-understood (and therefore blindingly obvious), no one bothers to explain it. Outsiders may foolishly swear an oath, thinking that they are merely making a promise. In actuality, they are submitting to a solemn and binding vow. In this world, a hero’s word means something—it has real weight.

Outsiders who learn this lesson quickly will survive and thrive. Those who fail to do so will find themselves at the mercy of the Furies. The gods of Thylea can also be unforgiving. Disrespecting or doubting divine power will provoke native superstition. Rightly so—for persistent doubt could well bring down the wrath of the gods. Openly practicing an outsider religion will also make natives uncomfortable. Denying the validity of Thylean religions will make their devotees fearful of divine anger. Being stupid enough to rob or desecrate a Thylean temple will infuriate both the gods and their native worshippers. Where the gods are concerned, caution is always preferred. But provided that outsiders obey the rules of civilized behavior, mind their manners, and do not make rash statements or promises, they can make something of their lives in Thylea—and even thrive.

The Underworldis a name for the sunless land of tunnels and caverns that exists between the verdant land of Thylea. More commonly referred to as “The Bowels of Thylea”, it is said to have formed from the twisting and turning guts of the mother titan when she formed the lands. It is said that the tunnels of the Bowels link all the lands of Thylea, including the islands - but they have never been mapped out, even by the Titans. They are a dangerous place, with rumours of mushroom men and blind monsters. The Dragonlord Dourin Kobalos, after the death of his dragon in the War, ventured deep into the Mithral Mines in an attempt to find a way of traversing the land without being seen by Sydon, Lord of the Sea. However, he never returned.

Kentimane was the most powerful of the Titans. He is believed to be both the husband and eternal guardian of the Great Mother. Many references are found to him in the poetry of the gygans and the centaurs, but few credible sources have survived the ravages of time. Kentimane is usually depicted with one hundred heads and one hundred hands.

His symbol is a spiral of ten stone hands.

Earning and Losing Piety

You increase your piety score to Kentimane when you expand the titan’s influence in the world in a concrete way through acts such as these:

  • Taking vengeance against a powerful foe

  • Burning a polis or a settlement to the ground

  • Building or restoring shrines to Kentimane or Thylea

  • Preventing or stopping destruction to the land

Your piety score to Kentimane decreases if you diminish Kentimane’s influence in the world, contradict his ideals, or make him look weak or ineffectual through acts such as these:

  • Publicly displaying weakness or compassion
