Bathhouse Brawl

Claw Recap
2021-05-30

Lesotruth 13th, 989 IaC

  • The party arrived in the middle of the bathhouse of the Hands of Love brothel in Adalhast, spilling out of the central fountain and amusing guests
    • Brimmus expressed his discomfort in the environment as the blink dog and spectator disappeared, the being disguised as a guard ran out, and the Iron, Eliza Millheart, Unknown, and Unknown pittered about
    • Soon, a beautiful woman arrived and introduced herself as Unknown, questioning the Cursebusters on what they were doing in her establishment
    • The group was strangely forthcoming and honest with the woman, who soon signaled for her less aquatically inclined workers to exit the room as triton guards began to file in
    • Merja somehow managed to convince Amisi that she worked for her despite her current appearance
    • Amisi "distracted" the group while the guards locked the doors down, asking them for their gold and treasures
    • Gloating that she had "tricked" the party, Amisi attacked the group with the impetus of throwing their dead bodies in the fountain, which she apparently received gold for doing
  • The party fought Amisi as she transformed into a giant, fish-like beast
    • Caedali and Lambchop attacked the beefy, blubbering Amisi as she began to fill the now sealed chamber with water
    • Ilryn and Kel began engaging the triton guards, who were all sweaty and cut
    • Steve worked with Eliza to fight the guards on the other side of the fountain
    • Merja took a less violent approach, using her beholder eye to charm one of the guards and using him to distract someone else
    • As Brimmus fled to the top of the room to escape the rising water, the Iron stood around petrified from fear of rusting
    • The cow sat around
  • As the battle progressed, the group figured they needed to turn the 4 latches that sealed the room all at the same time
    • Caedali, Merja, Kel and Lambchop situated themselves around the latches
    • Amisi was distracted as Steve turned Ilryn into a giant shark
    • The group opened the latches and began draining the room as the surviving guard tritons fled
    • Amisi, badly injured, fled to kill and eat the cow
    • The group descended upon her and struck her down
  • As the party began to recover from the battle and mourn the loss of the cow, they noticed Amisi was beginning to move again
    • Kel healed the unconscious Ratagh and the Iron
    • Despite stabbing Amisi through the head and trying all matter of magical tricks to keep her down, she continually regenerating, spraying a corrosive poison as she did so
    • Kel managed to impede her movement in a bock of ice using Unknown
    • Amisi begged to be given access to the cow so that she could fully regenerate
    • Amisi realized that Merja didn't work for her
    • The group managed to get a decent amount of information from her regarding the Left Hand before Kel provided the cow to her and she escaped
  • Exiting the bathhouse, the party witnessed a number of clientele and employees run as they began to ransack the brothel
    • They discovered a room full of bones where the prodigious Amisi was trying to create dead people, not even zombies, to throw into her fountain for gold
    • Discovering a large amount of treasure under her floorboards, the group also found a number of letters written to former members of the Coven of Enama including the Ossuate, Unknown, Soulstitcher, and Unknown.
    • Brimmus bid the party farewell, returning the Unknown and departing to the Planes of Fire
  • After putting on some disguises and loading the big-ass tooth into a cart, the group headed into Adalhast, making their way to Arcshield where Lambchop's friends at the Silver Shepherd were
    • Eliza, the Iron, and Ratagh headed to Unknown in order to try and get some help for the poor detective
    • Unadrac stayed alongside the party for a bit, but headed back to Copperkeep in search of something that could kill him
  •  The group entered the Silver Shepherd, meeting a posh elven diplomat surrounded by elven guards
    • The guards attempted to usher the group out of the tavern, but the diplomat invited them in
    • Apparently he had bought out the inn for the night to experience the "lifestyle of the common folk"
    • The elven dignitary introduced himself as Unknown of the Unknown in the Free Lands, and began remarking on the "quaintness" of the group
    • Jora, a worker at the inn, emerged and caught up with Lambchop, serving the group food and drinks from the tavern's rather robust menu
    • The group spent some time eating, drink, and meeting both Jora and Nathaniel, who seemed very empathetic to their dear friend Lambchop's plight
    • Lambchop (with the help of the party) began to explain the situation in Atherdale, speaking of how the Unknown was looking for the help of the agents in the capital
    • Nathaniel bemoaned the loss of Lambchop's stomach, something he referred to as an "indispensable asset", and vowed to assist the group against the Left Hand
    • Rafaenth received some venison, which was tasted for poison by his guards before he began to chow down
    • The guard and soon Rafaenth began to die of poisoning as Jora whipped out a crossbow and shot the second guard in the head
    • The innkeeps beckoned Lambchop over so that he could feast on the souls of the elves with zero remorse
  • Promising to contact their networks and find out what they could dig up on the Ossuate, Nathaniel and Jora put the groups to bed and the party had their first good rest in a long while
